The Swipes

The Swipes is a German political punk rock band formed in 2007 in the Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim area. Their music features melodic British and American-style Punk Rock with English lyrics focusing on systemic and social critique.

Their sound is built on thick guitar walls, dynamic basslines, and fast-paced drums. They are heavily influenced by punk and rock icons like the Ramones, Leatherface, Snuff, China Drum, and Hot Water Music.

Their lyrics tackle modern global crises with raw honesty. They frequently criticize the downsides of globalization, European indifference toward the refugee crisis, environmental destruction, and political greed.

Line up: Stefan Becker - Vocals & guitar, Ralf Unterstab - Bass, Patrick Bernhagen - Drums.
