Against The Grain NYHC / Dead Blow Hammer

NY/NJ Hardcore band Against The Grain was started in 1996 by Agnostic Front/Cause For Alarm veteran Rob Kabula. The band recorded the much hyped thrashy crossover sounding Demo 1996 and distributed it at shows on cassette. While Rob Kabula departed to promote the Agnostic Front reunion, Against the Grain's cult status continued to soar. Shortly, Too Damn Hype records put out their more crossover meets punk "Mentiroso" CD. In '06, Rob Kabula would return to the band he founded for a final string of shows before their breakup that same year. Shortly thereafter, the band announced a slight name change adding NYHC to the end of their name being that the name was saturated with many bands with the same name and in case that they would differentiate themselves from those other bands. 2013 saw their return and in 2014, they played their first show back at the Black and Blue Bowl while promoting the release of "Demo 1996" on 7 inch for the first time. The next day they changed their name to Dead Blow Hammer with the intent to play your favorite Against the Grain NYHC love serenades including upcoming new stuff slated to hit in 2015 under the Dead Blow Hammer banner.

Dead Blow Hammer is American Hardcore Punk band from Hoboken, New Jersey. Formed all the way back in 1996 by bassist Rob Kabula (ex-Agnostic Front, Cause For Alarm) and guitarist Carlos Diaz, NYC/NJ-based Hardcore combo Against The Grain played countless gigs and released music via such labels as Too Damn Hype Records and Guillotine Records throughout the years. Now known as Dead Blow Hammer, the band is refreshed and storming out of the gates with their fast-paced Hardcore Punk style with winning results.
