Webelos

 

Webelos is a Punk Rock 'N' Roll band from Madrid, Spain. Punk understood as provocation on all fronts!!! Evidently with the name Webelos (acronym for ‘WE'll BE LOyal Scouts’), Mugretone Interior (vocals and guitar), Poison Bambee (vocals and bass) and Spidey González (drums) did not intend to pay explicit homage to the boy scouts. And if they were referring to the scouts, they certainly did so with the same bad humour and irreverence that they also displayed, and in abundance, on many occasions throughout their career. Because if one thing was clear to them from the beginning, it was that Punk is about provocation, a maxim that they applied on many fronts at the same time. Mugretone explains it like this: "We made the Webelos to have enemies, not to have fans (even if the latter did eventually appear). But it's clear that there were more people hating us than praising us. And that's the essence of a Punk band, to generate hate, rage. A hundred million detractors can't be wrong. We were the anti-band par excellence’. Furthermore, the roadmap did not include entrenching ourselves in defensive positions: ‘Instead of dodging what they threw at us and justifying ourselves, what we did was add the new insult to the bandwagon and proudly carry it’."
