Violation 13

Violation 13 is Street Core band from Belgium. First off all, they’re glad to see that many people find it difficult to describe their sound. They dislike leading Violation 13 into one particular musical style, just because there are so many styles all of them in the band like. The difficulty for them in song writing is that we must find a good mixture between these influences and yet creating our own style. Bands and styles they like are oldschool Punk Rock (Ramones, Misfits, GG Allin, … ) early UK Punk (Anti-Nowhere League, Discharge, U.K. Subs, GBH, The Exploited,… ), oldschool Hardcore (Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Bad Brains, Pro-Pain…), 80’s Venice Hardcore/Trash/Punk Rock (Suicidal Tendencies, Beowulf, No Mercy, Excel…), German Rock (Böhse Onkelz, Die Toten Hosen, The Troopers…) but also lesser expected Hardrock bands like AC/DC, Motörhead… During the last years we’re also influenced by Johnny Cash, Brian Setzer, Social Distortion & Mike Ness and many Rockabilly and Psychobilly bands. Furthermore they all have our own individual, sometimes very strange influences: Rap and Hip-Hop, Gothic, New Wave, Heavy Metal… So when you take all these influences, shake them like a good cocktail, and serve them through their instruments, you get a good idea of how Violation 13 sounds like. They often refer their sound as “Genkster Punk” or “Violation Punk”.
