Straitjacket
Straitjacket formed around 1999. They like Punk, they play Punk.... Hailing from Portland, Oregon the members of Straitjacket have all been involved in the local scene since the late 80's. Coming from past Portland bands that helped create the "Portland" sound and scene in the 90's, now they are combining their love of early melodic Punk with their many other influences. Drawing influences from a wide assortment of early Punk music, Straitjacket carry on the tradition. Words and phrases like: melodic, snotty, tough, hard pop,catchy, and Street Punk have all been used to desribe their sound...you decide! Inspired by what great Punk music has meant in their lives, success would be to make music that is just as important to others. With a stiff middle finger in the face of bullshit mainstream "Punk", they seek to glorify the energy, independence, and DIY ethics of the real Punk scene. Their Influences: Chelsea, U.K. Subs, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash, Toxic Reasons etc.
