Dead Generation (SWE)

Dead Generation from Bollnäs with Petrus, Erik, Klas and Johan came to fundamentally change Swedish Punk with the few songs they managed to record. According to their own statement, "We tried to sound like Blitz, but you know, it doesn't work. It was probably more old school than Oi!" said drummer Klas Ebeling in the spring of 2001. And although Blitz were the kings of the Dead Generation world, The Partisans, Blank 77, Cockney Rejects and Subhumans also belonged to the Punk scene. With those influences in their back pocket, the band played Street Punk that knocked most other bands of the time. Also, the crowd singing was delicious on "The Punk Rock Show". And if you come from Bollnäs, it's not exactly the song from the football stands that inspires you.. As far as I know, these two songs (Dead Generation & Oi! Is In My Head) are the only ones that were released on vinyl. The song "Dead Generation" can also be found on Sörling's Svinstia, which Turist I Tillvaron released in 2013 - long after the band's demise.
