Madlocks

Madlocks was Street Punk band from Berlin, Germany. The Madlocks were founded in September 1999 by members of Volxsturm and Maulhalten, but also, rather unusually, with a female drummer who can easily hold her own with her male colleagues in this genre. Musically, they offer a lot of variety, combining classic 77 Punk Rock with Hardcore and melancholic Rocky, guitar-driven elements, and they don't shy away from ‘quantum leaps’ between styles. So it's no surprise that the Madlocks released their debut EP back in March 2000. After that, things went quiet for the band, at least as far as new recordings were concerned. On the other hand, the Madlocks were very busy on stages around the world, playing with bands such as The Generators, The Lurkers, Fifi & The Mach3, California United, Red Alert, The Undead, Mensen, Discipline, Klasse Kriminale, Frontkick, Skarface, Shearer, Evil Conduct and many others. Recently, the Madlocks have been active in the studio again, and after almost nine years as a band, their first album, ‘Riot’, will be released on 6 June 2008 on the Schwerin label SN-Punx. But that's not all. For fans of LPs, the album will be released as a beautiful picture vinyl ten years after Madlocks!
