Smoke 7 was a D.I.Y. Punk label during early 80s. Primary home of RF7 but has also released music by Bad Religion, Redd Kross, JFA, MIA, Circle One, Genocide and more. Releases like the Public Service compilation in 1981 & Redd Kross debut 'Born Innocent' put Smoke 7 on the map.
First opus features rare Bad Religion, Redd Kross, M.I.A., RF7. Has two classic Bad Religion tracks, "Bad Religion" (a completely different version from their first single, cut specially for Smoke 7) and "Drastic Actions". RF7 does a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Redd Kross "Cease To Exist" was originally performed by Charles Manson and JFA's "Lowrider" is a cover of War.
Second comp is the sequel to Smoke 7 original 1981-1983 release, as reissued by Bomp! in 1995. A fine way to extend the pleasure and listen to some more early 80s California Hardcore Punk, including more classics, rare or forgotten tracks.
