Hell Beer Boys

Hell Beer Boys is a Street Punk/Oi! band from Goierri, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain formed in 2002. The band was made up of Jon Lekuona (drums), Iker Lino (guitar), Blasko (bass) and Gorki (vocals).

The first few months were very intense, they rehearsed a lot and that was when they really got stuck in, as they were very excited and keen about the band. They rehearsed in a venue in Tolosa, sharing it with another band, they put in as many hours as they could every day and it wasn't long before the first songs came out, like ‘antisocial’, ‘violencia’, ‘oi oi matxinatu’ ... etc. Six months after the group was formed they played their first concert, which was in the youth centre in Ordizia, where they were accompanied by their closest audience, who are still with them today and more loyal than ever to Hell Beer Boys. After that first experience of doing a concert they were very satisfied with how everything went. That made them work harder as a group and their enthusiasm grew a lot more, so they continued with rehearsals, new songs and it wasn't long before they had many more concerts, both in the Basque Country and all over Spain. The first year of the group's life passed and they changed the venue in Tolosa for one located in the middle of the mountains, in the Arriaran neighbourhood, also shared with another group (Mutuo Desprecio). In those days came their first opportunity to enter the studio to record, it was a song ‘oi oi matxinatu’ that was for a compilation of groups from Tolosa. Time went by and they didn't stop playing concerts, it was then that they took a short break and decided to record what would be their debut CD, made up of 9 songs, called ‘Ratas del Oria’, which was very well received, as they sold out very quickly and today there are no more copies. Thanks to this CD, the group became better known outside their own environment and they played many more concerts both in the Basque Country and in the rest of Spain... In 2004, they recorded their second album, a split with Des-kontrol from Arrasate, on which they included 4 new songs and another 4 by Des-kontrol. The CD was titled ‘ACAB’. A few months later Hell Beer Boys underwent a change in the group, Ion Leku left the group and Eneko Marsa entered in his place. At the beginning of 2006 they began to record their third album, ‘Mi Crew’ was published with the independent record label ‘True Force Records’. This album made them better known within the StreetPunk scene, increasing the number of concerts and sales. In 2008 they released their fourth album, ‘No Penséis Por Mí’, also released by the independent label ‘True Force Records’. The group is currently on an indefinite break from concerts, as they are focusing on composing new songs for their next album.
