The Black Marias

The Black Marias is an Oi! / Street Punk band from Peterborough, United Kingdom. Despite the old school, almost Oi!, hard-hitting Punk tunes, the band never lose their sense of melody and always, but always let the chorouses carry the songs. For instance, "Minority Report", a long-standing live favourite, manages to be a fantastic celebration of the underdog while giving the drinking masses an instantly recognisable refrain to yell back at the band during the show. Dave’s soaring vocals rise above most Punk singers, and it’s this asset that allows The Black Marias to make these memorable chorouses so infectiously catchy. There is a wickedly sense of humour running rampantly through the songs (one that enjoys women, beer and Punk Rock) but it never hides the fact that at the heart of the band, Tom, Phil, Julian and Jimmy are pretty awesome musicians individually, and together they are the perfect marriage made in a pub.
