Airbomb

Airbomb are old, most people this old are playing bowls or bingo but Airbomb are still playing Punk. This means Airbomb are either [A] Dedicated to the cause, or [B] Too stupid to find a hobby more suited for the older gentleman. Airbomb formed in the summer of 1996, they'd all been playing in Punk bands since our teens and just kind of ended up together. They set about converting Meaty's garage into a rehearsal room and later they added some recording equipment. Their plan was a pretty simple one, write and record powerful Punk tunes with good vocal harmonies and hopefully some thought provoking lyrics. They didn't want to sound overtly political but they wanted the politics of life woven into the songs. But most importantly they wanted to do it ourselves. In 1998 they recorded and released their debut album called "Look Out!" and they got a whopping 4K's review in Kerrang. Since then they've gigged, moved houses, changed jobs, had kids, lost their marbles and finally got round to finishing their second album. They're gonna set ourselves some serious deadlines for the third or they'll be on zimmerframes before they get it finished. Their influences are pretty varied. They all used to go and see The Ramones whenever they came to the UK and they've completely stolen The Ramones no nonsense, no stopping approach to live shows. They also all share an illicit love of cheesey 80's Metal, so don't accept a lift from them if you are offended by Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Judas Priest and Twisted Sister. They fave Airbomb experience was probably when Charlie Harper came to one of their gigs and he even paid to get in...
