I FORGET

 

I FORGET is a Punk Rock band from Huntington Beach, California, USA.

The story of I FORGET comes out of a darker time—an apocalyptic time when survival was the only thing on anyone’s mind. Political agendas and quarantine dominated every conversation. 

But not ours.

We actually loved it. Just a bunch of kids with no jobs and not much going on. What more could we ask for? We surfed every day, drank our weight in beer, and did whatever the hell we wanted.

When quarantine finally ended, we crawled out of our caves and unleashed ourselves on Huntington Beach. We were having the time of our lives—surf film premieres, punk rock shows, late nights, and early mornings. But something was missing.

Orange County is the birthplace of West Coast punk rock. We all grew up listening to it. But at the shows we were going to, we noticed something: there weren’t many people our age playing that style anymore. Punk and hardcore were alive, but they didn’t feel young.

We needed something new.

One night, after way too many beers, Max Lambert threw out the idea: “Let’s start a band. I’ll play drums.”

None of us were musicians. That didn’t matter. We had one option: start a band. So Max bought a drum kit (thank god for OfferUp and cheap gear), and soon we were meeting up at his uncle’s garage studio.

We wrote our first song that day—and it was absolute trash. Straight-up torture for anyone within a mile. The next six songs? Also trash. But we didn’t care. We kept showing up, kept playing, and slowly (really slowly), we started getting better. Still not great—but better.

We followed in the footsteps of another local band, THE CAVITIES, who used to play free shows at Central Park. As fans, we thought, “Why not?” So we threw our first show there too.

From that point on, the shows just kept getting bigger. One of the highlights? Playing the main stage at the Observatory, opening up for T.S.O.L. 

Now, I FORGET is more than a band. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a crew. It’s a platform to make cool shit—plain and simple. 

This is I FORGET — born from boredom, fueled by chaos, and always down for a good time.
