Tekla Knös was Swedish Christian Punk band that started up in 1996 in Stockholm that was active 1996-2010. The story started in the spring of 96 when Markus Lindsmyr (then: Johansson), a radical, both in a political and Christian sense met the fellow believer and skinhead Mauritz Vetterud. Together they formed that strange brew of Punk Rock, christian faith, anarchistic tendencies and (original) skinhead culture that has come to be known as Tekla Knös. During the first three years a singer and three drummers (Cornell Gregori, Sven Ranelf, Fredrik "Smurfen" Johansson and on the recording of "Noa", Urban Näsvall) passed through the band and it wasn't until a Salvation Army soldier named Henrik Dahlquist joined on drums that the strange brew of Tekla Knös became completed. The band has released two full legnth albums “Så Sparade Vi Oss Ur Krisen” (1999) and “Hellre Dåre Än Marionett” (2004) on their DIY-label Etik & Moral Records. Inbetween them came the cdr-EP "Schengenland Über Alles" . They have also appeared on a number of compilations. On the autumn of 2004 the band had to take a lenghty break due to health problems on Markus' part. (nothing serious, but tedious..) In august 2009 they finally reappeared for an intense show in an overcrowded tent at the Frizon-festival, outside Örebro, Sweden. An event that immediately was labeled legendary by both fans and press!
