Mr Nipples & The Dangleberries
The crazily named Mr Nipples & The Dangleberries conjures up something you'd expect from out the pages of a Roald Dahl book? But nope these 5 spiky fugitives that once roamed the streets of 21st century Belfast with an array of studs, spikes and everything else you'd imagine a modern day Hardcore Punk outfit to feature, had something more than a bad reputation and chaotic disposition.Seems they've got more publicity since their demise than they ever got when they were around making a mess. But ain't that always the way in Punk? Formed way back in 1996 Mr Nipples were a big favourite on the Belfast drunk Punk scene mixing a little ska with a huge dollop of UK'82 style Hardcore. Their first gig wasn't until 1999 - suppoting Skint and Distortion at Giros - by which time original singer Mal had been replaced by Darren. Marty Riot then joined on lead guitar and when Joe McC left for personal reasons he was replaced by Fat Dan from the Walking Abortions. The band released one demo plus a full length album "Nipples Militia" before packing it in around 2004. Ex members can be found plying their trade in other bands such as 1000 Drunken Nights, and The Violent Fuckwits.
