The Blue Bloods

Boston band The Blue Bloods were formed in 1998 with an agenda to create powerful, guitar driven Punk music. The guys in the band grew up in Boston, and they were heavily influenced by the sounds from the many great punk bands that Boston has produced for the last 25 years. By July of 2002, The Blue Bloods had decided to sign with popular European Hardcore/Punk label, I Scream Records after a self released CD. In August, they went into The Outpost studio in Stoughton Mass, under the engineering guidance of the legendary Jim Siegel (Dropkick Murphy’s, Slap Shot, Blood for Blood) they recorded their debut, self-titled disc for release on GMM and I Scream Records. Riding a complex wave of minor personal triumphs, gross miscalculations and dumb luck, Greg Genovese and Tim Baxter embarked on a journey that was equal parts dick-swinging bodacity and humbling timidity. The Blue Bloods were born a cacophonic racket, in TJ Welch’s Malden basement on a hot July night. Fast forward 15 years, now a super-group, comprised of the A-listers from Boston’s C-List Hardcore Punk set, these wild-eyed romantics march on, explosive, erudite and energetic, busting out hard-hitting, almost anthemic songs.  Emphasizing hooky guitar work and raw, melodic vocals, they aptly synthesize their influences, Minor Threat, The Misfits, SSD, Slapshot, Black Flag, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, The Bouncing Souls and a zillion others. Believe in The Blue Bloods, because they believe in YOU!!!
