Suspekt

Suspekt was a five-piece christian HC/Street Punk band from Berlin, Germany with Male/ Female vocals. The band formed in 2005. Caused by a complete lack of interest to cultivate the abilities on their instruments but rather to gain high profit the band recorded the first demo EP only three weeks later: "Eistee". Their said: "This EP was a Punk Rock disaster without any talent consisting of 7 stolen songs". Their second demo EP was released by the end of the 2005: "Face Your Enemy". Their first full-lenght album, "As Punky As You Are" was released after huge delays in the summer of 2007. The album is comprised of 13 street punk songs that meld working class angst with art house creativity. Superior songwriting, coupled with intensely snarled male and snotty female vocals over jagged and driving guitars, makes for a fantastic album. Emotionally driven Christian lyrics. Sounds like early Wire meets the Buzzcocks or “Nobody’s Heroes” era Stiff Little Fingers. Don’t be misled by the new wave cover art (and a little bit of synthesizer on the Intro), this album packs plenty of punk power. Song lyrics mix between English and German. In 2008 the band changed its name: White Flags Burning.
