GRYTT is strong trio of experienced Punk/Alternative/Noise Rockers from Geelong, Australia. GRYTT's music sounds like Lemmy played wet nurse to the child of Hüsker Dü and Wipers. Buzz's incredible and unrelenting drumming provides a rickety backdrop of "graveyard shift at the foundry"-like rumblings as a vehicle for Ben and Ads' solipsistic and a-rhythmic guitar and bass wrangling and a collective, spirited series of fatal lyrical declarations declaimed with such intensity that they sound downright life-enhancing. Their dirty, maritime strut is a catchy, distortion-fuelled melodic heaviness, ie. i.e. these Australians prove once and for all that their sense of dynamics is both more intense and more immense than the other kids on the block! Inspired by Hüsker Dü, Black Sabbath, Wipers and ZZ Top (among many others), Geelong-based Rock band GRYTT combine the sounds of hard Aussie Rock with a raucous Proto-Punk attitude. The band was formed in 2022 and consists of singer/guitarist "Lightning" Ben Watkins (ex-Warped), drummer Buzz Munday (ex-Bored!) and bassist Adam Doherty (ex-Spaghetti Westerns). Although they are supposedly part of a scene that values aggression and noise as much as hooks and melodies, GRYTT display a striking pop sensibility. The vocals are lushly layered yet growly, and the lyrics manage to find a beauty in the banalities of suburban melodrama. Underscored by screaming garage rock guitars and the group's powerful rhythm section, GRYTT push Rock 'N' Roll full throttle.
