Penny Cocks

Penny Cocks is a band created in Barcelona during the summer of 2009 with the idea that the contemporary musical scene leaves a lot to be desired and having a clear musical project: making punk likein the decade of the 70’s. In March 2010 Common People and Lleida Rules edited our first EP, made up of four songs that run out its 500 copies in three months. And that made us glad and surprised, because there was even international demand. During this year we have had great luck participating in at least 30 gigs next to loads of local bands, classic 70’s punk bands like the Vibrators, UK Subs, Toy Dolls or 999 and other bands that sure will be classic in a few years such as The Bite or Secret Army. We are very proud of each one of those concerts, even though drunkness has not aloud us to prove our pedigree. Our gigs use to last about 45 minutes and the repertory consists in our own themes and some covers that everybody knows (Ramones, Clash, Jam, SLF, etc.) the combination of both becomes a frenzied rhythm that achieves gigs full of energy and intensity and that expects you to be part of the show. Nowadays they are preparing the recording of what will be their first LP, if there is no problems in the process, it should be on the streets at the end of this year. Here it is!
